City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> June 7, 2011 <br /> Page 8 of 10 <br /> MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved to approve Resolution No. 31, Series 2011, <br /> seconded by Councilor Dalton. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote <br /> of 7 -0. <br /> BI- MONTHLY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> Economic Development Director Star updated Council on recent economic <br /> developments in the City as follows: <br /> Sam's Club —ICSC meeting with the new brokers for Wal -Mart. <br /> Safeway: A Boulder developer, Loftus Development, is under contract to <br /> purchase the Safeway building and desires to create a mixed use development. <br /> Walgreens is not interested in building a new store and it is likely the current <br /> store would vacate at the end of their lease, in January 2013. <br /> Two Business Assistance Agreements were approved by Council this evening. <br /> The National Entertainment Networks has decided on another location. <br /> Inovonics, another Louisville based company will take that space. <br /> Council will be asked to approve a Business Assistance Package for Rico <br /> Burritos at a future Council meeting. <br /> King Soopers is committed to Louisville and is planning an internal upgrade as <br /> well as a renewal of the facade. They are pleased with the fuel station. <br /> Golf Course Hotel Staff met with Fairway Suites, a hotel developer, who is <br /> interested in constructing a long -term stay hotel next to the Coal Creek Golf <br /> clubhouse. <br /> Downtown Updates <br /> The Porch Deli has opened on Main and Pine. <br /> Bob's and Bittersweet Coffee have reopened. <br /> Several new building projects: The Rex Restaurant and LuLu's. <br /> Drive time radio topic Why Downtown Louisville is so awesome! <br /> Lockheed Martin Tour The Mayor, City Manager, Deputy Manager and <br /> Economic Development Director toured the Louisville facility in May. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 32, SERIES 2011 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST <br /> TO ALLOW A RESIDENTIAL DUPLEX ADDITION IN A COMMERCIAL <br /> NEIGHBORHOOD ZONE DISTRICT THAT REQUIRES A SPECIAL REVIEW USE <br /> (SRU) FOR A MULTI FAMILY RESIDENTIAL UNIT <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> Planning Director Russ explained the applicant, Karl Fettig, is requesting to construct an <br /> additional residential unit on his property located at 1442 Main Street.
