City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />June 14, 2011 <br />Page 5of 5 <br />Other kinds of access Director Barrett would like to see for the future of the <br />museum are: <br />Make historical photos available 24/7 <br />Make historical records more accessible <br />Research what grants are available (Karen Freiter from the Library staff is <br />taking a grant writing workshop) <br />Mayor encouraged the Library staff to look at ways to increase funding, how it <br />would be utilized, how the Library meets its future goals and what resources are <br />required to accomplish thosegoals. <br />Council Member Dalton asked to see differentincrements of funding and/orstaff <br />hours, and what thatwould provide in terms of expanded hours of operation at <br />the Museum. <br />City Manager’s Report <br />CityManagerFleminginformed Council thatColorado Mosquito Control will be <br />spraying for mosquitoes at the Coal Creek Golf Course after 8:00 p.m. on June <br />15th. Announced the City has turnedon one of the solar installations and said <br />to “stay tuned” for a symbolic celebration. City Manager Fleming reviewedthe <br />City Council Advanced Agenda and there was some discussion regarding the <br />thth <br />June 28and July 5agenda. <br />Mayor Sisk announced the joint meeting with the Boulder Valley School Board is <br />scheduled for Thursday, September 15, at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Meeting <br />Room. <br />Mayor Sisk inquired about the emergency preparedness training that is “on deck” <br />for Council. Deputy City Manager Balser said that Police Chief Goodman is <br />having some difficulty scheduling with the people who lead the training and this <br />may result in extending the second reading, public hearing of the Ordinance <br />beyond October. <br />Meeting adjourned at8:40 p.m.–Next Study Session will be held on July 12, <br />2011, and will be held in Council Chambers <br />
