Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 20, 2011 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />Koertje moved and Fasick seconded a motion to approve the Grant Request as presented by <br />staff. <br />No additional discussion of the motion heard. <br />Stewart called for a roll call vote. <br /> <br />Name Vote <br />Mike Koertje Yes <br />Heather Lewis Excused <br />Jessica Fasick Yes <br />Steve Poppitz Yes <br />Peter Stewart Yes <br />Laurel Tofte Excused <br />Florian Speier Excused <br />Motion passed: 4 to 0 <br /> <br />Russ stated he would contact the applicant and advise them of the City Council meeting date. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGGrant Request – 1117 Jefferson Avenue <br /> – <br />Stewart announced the public hearing and then recused himself as he is a neighbor of the <br />applicant. Stewart left council chambers. <br />Koertje assumed the chairmanship. <br />Koertje determined the applicant was not present. <br />Koertje stated the board did not have a quorum for this business item therefore he requested a <br />motion to continue to the July 18. <br />Poppitz moved and Fasick seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />NOTE: <br /> Stewart returned to the meeting. <br /> <br />Pre-filing conference – 1008 Lafarge Avenue <br />Stewart stated the purpose of the pre-filling conference is to answer any questions the <br />applicant might have. He requested the applicant to introduce himself. <br />Mike Sheppard stated he is the property owner of 1008 Lafarge Ave and he maintains <br />the home as a rental. He had stopped by City Hall and was able to visit with Mr. <br />McCartney. At the time he learned about the possible program and what some of the <br />things are offered. He would like more information about the process and what his next <br />steps should be. He stated he has already visited the Carnegie Library and obtain some <br />of history of the property. He has a photo of the home in 1948 and photos as the house <br />is today. <br />Stewart provided a general outline of the program. <br /> <br />
