Section 3. Section 17.08 of the LMC, entitled 'DefInitions' is hereby amended by the
addition of the following definitions to be inserted alphabetically into said section.

Administrative Special Review Use: An expedited review process available for CMRS
antennae proposals that meet certain design and location requirements. The process is
outlined in Section 17.42.080.

Alternative Tower Structure: An existing or proposed structure that is compatible with
the natural setting and surrounding structures and that camouflages or conceals the
presence of the antennae and/or towers and can be used to house or mount CMRS
antennae as an alternative to a building mounting or monopole, lattice tower or guy-
wired tower design, and excluding what are defined as building mounted (including
wall and roof mountings) or freestanding CMRS facilities. Examples would include
manmade trees, clock towers, bell steeples, light poles, silos, existing utility poles,
existing utility transmission towers and other similar alternative design mounting
structures.

Buildinl: Mounted CMRS Facility: Any facility where the CMRS antennae are
proposed to be mounted on an existing or proposed building, and excluding any facility
meeting the definition of a freestanding CMRS facility or the definition of an
Alternative Tower Structure.

Co-location: Co-location refers to the installation of multiple CMRS facilities on (1) the
same parcel, (2) the same building, or (3) a single support structure.

CDDSG: The City of Louisville Commercial Development Design Standards and
Guidelines, adopted June 17, 1997 and as may be amended from time to time. The
CDDSG include City-wide design standards that apply to office and retail commercial
development.

CMRS: Commercial Mobile Radio Services. A facility consisting of equipment for the
reception, switching or receiving of wireless telecommunications operating at 1,000
watts or less effective radiated power, and utilizing frequencies authorized by the
Federal Communications Commission for cellular, paging, enhanced specialized mobile
radio, personal communications systems telecommunication services, point-to-point
microwave signals, signals through FM radio transmitters, and signals through FM
boosters under ten watts effective radiated power.

CMRS Provider (Provider): A public or private company, or any other person
providing any type of CMRS and licensed by the FCC.

Commercial Satellite Dish Antenna: Any dish type antennae that is designed to transmit
or receive video or data communication for a commercial use, including, but not
limited to antennae for direct broadcast satellite, direct broadcast signals, multichannel
multi-point distribution service, television broadcast signals, and two way data
communications. This definition does not include satellite earth stations that are two

18
