<br />meters or less in diameter and located in a commercial or industrial zoning district, nor <br />does it include microwave antennae as defined in this Chapter. <br /> <br />Director: The Director of the Planning Department or designee. <br /> <br />Freestanding CMRS Facility: A facility where the support structure for the CMRS <br />antennae is a stand alone structure, such as a lattice tower or monopole, or a facility <br />where the antennae or mechanical support equipment would be the primary or only use <br />on the parcel, and excluding any Alternative Tower Structure. <br /> <br />Institutional Structures: Structures associated with uses defined by Use Groups 9, 11 to <br />23, 30, and in Section 17.12.030 of the LMC. <br /> <br />Microwave Dish Antenna: A dish type antenna used to link communication sites <br />together by wireless voice or data transmission. <br /> <br />Panel Antenna: Any antenna designed with both a vertical and horizontal plane for <br />receiving or transmitting CMRS signals. <br /> <br />Penthouse Structure: A fully enclosed structure that projects above the roof plane of a <br />building with a flat roof, is setback from perimeter building walls a minimum of 30 <br />percent of the distance between the exterior building walls, and encloses an area of less <br />than the 10 percent of the top floor area. Such structures often enclose mechanical <br />equipment or elevator shafts and may be accessed only from the roof. <br /> <br />Pitched Roof: Any roof with a slope greater than 1 :20 and lacking a parapet designed <br />to fully or partially screen mechanical units that may be mounted directly to the roof. <br /> <br />Whip Antenna: Any antenna cylindrical in shape, with a maximum diameter of 12 <br />inches, that emits signals in a 360-degree horizontal plane for the transmission or <br />reception of wireless communications signals. <br /> <br />Section 4.
