Linda suggested the possibility of partnering with the <br />Business Center on McCaslin. <br /> <br />VII. Our Past and Our Mission <br />A. This group can't vote. All authority rests with the LCC. <br />B. This group should work by consensus in making <br />recommendations unless there's dissention, in which case we offer <br />opinions as a majority. <br />C. All agendas and handouts must be made public 7 days <br />before any meeting. Any citizen may come and speak at the meeting. <br />Anything not on the agenda may not be introduced by committee <br />members. <br />D. It is important that we be inclusive, making sure everybody <br />knows that they have the opportunity for input. <br /> <br />VIII. Elections <br />A. Lynn moved that Don Atwood be elected Chairperson, Gina <br />seconded, and the committee accepted the nomination. <br />B. Gina moved that Lynn be elected Secretary, Amy seconded, <br />and the committee accepted the nomination. <br /> <br />IX. Don handed out a "flyer" detailing the findings of the Colorado <br />Business Committee for Arts economic study <br />A. Arts far from being a liability <br />B. 2005 study showed that the SCFD dispersed $38.7 million <br />and the arts generated greater than $380 million in economic benefit. <br />In 2005 the arts in the five county SCFD taxing area generated $1.4 <br />billion in economic activity to the area (enough to build 2 Pepsi <br />Centers and an Invesco Stadium). <br />C. A Boulder study in 2000 noted $19 million generated by the <br />arts in the community <br />
