CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />unquestionable sense of integrity, honesty, and <br />commitment to the City. <br /> <br />The new City Manager will have excE~lIent skills <br />in working with city councils, both individually <br />and as a corporate body. He/she should have <br />well developed skills in assisting councils with <br />wide ranging opinions and ideas in reaching <br />consensus and direction. <br /> <br />Candidates should be able to organize and <br />express ideas through excellent oral and <br />written communication to a wide variety of <br />audiences, such as the City Council, <br />community groups, and other boards and <br />committees. He/She will have a tracl< record of <br />implementing policies and systems that are <br />customer service oriented, provide! efficient, <br />cost-effective service, and are organizationally <br />effective. <br /> <br />The City Manager will be a good listener who <br />consistently works well with personnel <br />throughout all levels of the organization and <br />the community. The candidate who can <br />demonstrate that he or she has helped to <br />develop a sense of pride and cooperation in <br />their city and provided sound malnagement <br />leadership will be of special interest to the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />Candidates should have seven to ten years of <br />progressively responsible senior management <br />experience in municipal or county government, <br />preferably with at least three to five years as a <br />successful City or County Manager or <br />Administrator or as an AssistanVDeputy. <br />A bachelor's degree in public administration, <br />business or related field is required, with a <br />history of continuing educational and <br />professional development. A master's degree <br />is a plus.
