Dave Ferguson,Sally Burlingame, Anne <br />Robinson, Sean Moynihan,Jennifer Strand <br />Commission Members Absent: <br />Pat Seader, DianeMarino, Lynn Koglin, Dustin Sagrillo, <br />Brian Chamberlin <br />City Representatives Present: <br />Beth Barrett, Directory of Library & Museum Services <br />Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator <br />Members of the Public Present: <br />III.Approval of Agenda: <br />Members approved the agenda. <br />IV.Public Commentson Items Not on the Agenda: <br />None. <br />V.Meeting as Advisory Board for the City of Louisville <br />A.Approval ofJuly2011 Meeting Minutes: <br />Postponed to September meeting. <br />B.Report from the Director of Library and Museum Services: <br />Beth reported that <br />Louisville was again designatedthe best place to live by Money Magazine. Work at the <br />Museumis currently underway to replace the back doorandimprove the plumbing. Work <br />to waterproof the shake shingles will start next week. Bids are out to replace the sign in <br />front of the Museum.The Louisville Library’s Foundation Board will meet at the Museum <br />tomorrow to look at historic photosand to become better informed about the scope and <br />impact of a project to digitize the collection.Aweather exhibitwill be installed at the Library <br />later in the fall,anda Library staff memberis gathering information on historical local <br />weather,including interviewing people withmemoriesofweather events in the past. <br />C.Museum Coordinator’s Report: <br />1.Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors. <br />The Commissionvoted to accept <br />these gifts: <br />a. <br />David Buchanan: photos and informationrelating to hisfamily,including <br />severalphotos showing women’s organizations in Louisville. <br />b. <br />Larry Martella:photosand written information about hisfamily. <br />c. <br />Pat McHugh: pictures of Alfred Dhieux, one of the servicemen who died in <br />WWII. <br />Bridget Bacon asked for guidance about a proposed donation of three plaques <br />from the Methodist Church. It was agreed that the Museum would not be the <br />best repository for these plaques, especially given the Museum’s limited <br />storage space.
