It was <br />lively and interesting. <br />b. <br />Open Hours on Sept. 3, 2011. <br />1)Dave Ferguson, DonRoss, and possibly Pat Seaderwill be on site <br />to discuss the 1930s era with visitors asatie-in to OnThe Same <br />Page and The Worst Hard Time. <br />2)Diane Marino and Pat Seader will make pizzelles. <br />c. <br />Labor Day Parade Entry –Sept.5, 2011. Sean Moynihanreported that he <br />has been unable to arrange for a vintage baseball theme, and needs to <br />choose a different theme. It was decided that instead,he and any other <br />Commissioners and families will participate with theLouisville Libraryentry <br />with the theme ofthe 1930s. <br />d. <br />Banner for Museumexterior. Jennifer reported that the recommended size <br />for the banner is 3’ x 8’ and that the cost to create it at FedEx is $215. At <br />the last meeting,the Commissionhad hoped to get two banners for $150 <br />and to carry one in the parade. Jennifer will contactEllen Laverdure at the <br />Lafayette Libraryto see whether she can recommend a lower cost vendor. <br />Beth will ask Karen Freiter to design the banner. The Commission <br />approved $215 plus tax for the banner. Jennifer has a Louisville Permit <br />form.Commission members approved wording for the banner, which will <br />read, “Thanks, Louisville! For 25 years of support. Louisville Historical <br />Museum, 1986 –2011.” <br />e. <br />Member reception –Friday, Sept. 16, 2011. This project is on track. <br />Commission members signed up for tasks. The reception will be co-hosted <br />by the Museum and Creative Framing,with Maggie Snyder signing her <br />book at Creative Framing and Museum Founders available for discussion <br />at the Museumcampus. <br />D.Chairperson’s Report. <br />Dan reminded the Commission members not to have discussions <br />about Commission or Museum matters among two or more members outside of a posted, <br />official meeting. <br />Danreported that Diane Marino’s first walking tour went very well, with about 8 people <br />attending. <br />Dan also reported that Dustin Sagrillo sent in his resignation, stating that his personal <br />commitments are making it impossible to also serve on the Historical Commission. The <br />Commissionexpressed appreciation for Dustin’s service and particularly with his help on <br />the Oral History program and accepted the resignation. <br />Dan also reportedthat there has been a delay in exhibiting the curtainat the Museum as <br />the Museum staff has been planning to do. It was noted that the Commissionhadvoted at <br />the July meeting to spend up to $1000to pay a museum exhibits professional to hang it on <br />a wall at the Museum in a safe and secure way.Commission members statedthat they <br />would very much like to see the curtain exhibited at the Museum andexpressed a desire to <br />haveinput into this process, being the advisory board for such matters. <br />E.Commission Comments and Discussion Items for nextMeeting <br />:Sally suggested <br />beginning to discussways to fund a new Welcome Center and Archive for the campus. <br />F.Close Advisory Board Meeting. <br />VI.Meeting as Fundraising Board for the Historical Museum <br />. <br /> <br />
