<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 6, 2007 <br />Page 13 of 18 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting 56 Steele Street, Denver, CO presented a <br />Business Assistance Agreement with Global Healthcare Exchange. The <br />company is considering a lease of approximately 80,000 square feet of existing <br />office space at 1315 West CE~ntury Drive in Centennial Valley. The purpose of <br />the relocation is to expand thleir current operations and establish a worldwide <br />corporate office presence. GHX meets the general criteria to locate in Louisville, <br />as outlined by City Council. They will be occupying existing space, they will be <br />bringing primary jobs, and setup a worldwide presence in the City of Louisville. <br />She introduced Mr. Chris Petersen, Chief Counsel for GHX. <br /> <br />Mr. Petersen thanked Council for considering the business assistance <br />agreement. He explained GIHX is a Software and Service Company for health <br />care, which helps hospitals and suppliers reduce costs and increase margins. <br />They are an exchange between health care suppliers and health care providers. <br />They use automated E-Comnnerce in their exchange services to reduce health <br />care costs. The company does $14 Billon dollars in transaction volumes every <br />month, which represents 30% of the market. They hope to expand their <br />transaction volumes over the next four years to 75% of the market. They will <br />make their corporate headquarters in the City of Louisville. The building tenant <br />finish and landscaping will be renovated to represent its worldwide presence. The <br />company currently employs 200 people locally and 500 worldwide. He noted <br />GHX will bring revenue to the City, as well as frequent Louisville restaurants, <br />shop in Louisville, and use the Recreation Center and the Coal Creek Golf <br />Course. He stated GHX will be a community partner. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Mr. Peterslen to explain GHX's motivation for relocating to <br />Louisville. Mr. Petersen stated GHX wanted to relocate its offices along the US <br />36 Corridor and was looking not only for a municipality which would offer <br />incentives, but for a City in wlhich they could be part of the community. He stated <br />they feel Louisville is that City. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stated the City vallues GHX and their decision to locate their business <br />in Louisville. He stressed the importance of Global Healthcare Exchange making <br />their global headquarters in tlhe City of Louisville. <br /> <br />Council member Muckle askE~d if GHX is leasing the facility. Mr. Petersen <br />confirmed they are leasing 80,000 S.F. <br /> <br />Council member Muckle asked what GHX's market share is in Colorado and in <br />the west. Mr. Petersen stated they have a large market share in Colorado and in <br />the west. <br />
