There was clarification the <br />Council may engage in discussion and only the candidates supported by the City <br />Council would be voted on by paper ballots. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to select Applicants' #4, #5 and #8, seconded by <br />Mayor Pro Tern Brown. All in favor. <br /> <br />Discussion: Mayor Pro Tern Brown and Mayor Sisk supported Applicant #6. <br />Council member Muckle supported Applicant #1. Council member Yarnell <br />supported Applicant #12. <br /> <br />VOTE: Council voted on paper ballots and the six candidates to be interviewed <br />would be Applicants' #1, #4, #5, #6, #8 and #12. <br /> <br />Lynn Stokesbary, from the Prothman Group, outlined the options available to <br />Council for the interview process: A community reception on the evening of <br />Thursday, June 7, where the Council and the public can meet the candidates. <br />Interviews with the six finalists scheduled throughout the day of June 8. Council <br />may choose to interview candidates as a panel for a 45 minute period. Prothman <br />will provide guides for Counciil if they so desire. Council may choose to also <br />have candidates interviewed by a panel of Department Heads and Senior Staff <br />members, or a Community Panel. After the interviews are completed, the <br />Candidates will tour the organization. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Mr. Stokesbary if an employment agreement would be <br />negotiated on the evening of June 8. Stokebary encouraged Council to have <br />discussions with the top candidate. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light stated the City's Charter does not provide for an Executive <br />Session for the purpose of nE!gotiating an employment agreement. However, <br />Council may discuss the matter at a Study Session or it could be discussed by a <br />Negotiation Committee. A draft could be prepared by Mr. Stokesbary and the <br />City Attorney for Council review. <br /> <br />Council member Sackett statled in his experience, he has not discussed financial <br />arrangements with a full board, but had discussions with a recruiter, who in turn <br />conversed with a spokesperson for the board. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Brown suggested the Council continue to identify the candidates <br />by number in public meetings. <br /> <br />Council member Marsella requested a Council meeting after the interviews. <br /> <br />Council member Sackett supported a community reception where the public can <br />meet and ask the candidates questions. <br />
