All in favor. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER RECRUITMENT PROCESS - <br />DISClISSION/DIRECTION/ACTION <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Hix reviewed the City Manager Interview agenda for <br />June 7 and 8, beginning with the public reception on Thursday, June 7 at 7:00 <br />p.m. Public comment cards will be available. Council received a draft of the City <br />Manager contract and may discuss appointing a subcommittee for contract <br />negotiations with the City Manager finalist. The subcommittee, consisting of two <br />Council members, would bring back a proposed contract for discussion and <br />action at a subsequent City Council meeting. Upon completion of the interviews <br />and after feedback has been given; Council may proceed to evaluate the <br />candidates strengths and weaknesses. A ballot process may be employed for <br />consideration of each candidate. Once a finalist has been approved the <br />subcommittee may proceed to discuss an employment agreement. <br /> <br />The City Council confirmed the interview process and agenda for final City <br />Manager Candidates on June 7 and 8. There was discussion relative to the <br />interview questions. Discussion items included open ended questions, and the <br />organization of the questions. <br /> <br />Human Resource Manager Hix explained there is a benefit to asking standard <br />questions of the applicants to provide consistency. Mayor Sisk suggested Ms. <br />Hix and Mr. Stokesbary select seven top questions for the Council. <br /> <br />Interim City Manager Balser 13xplained there will be an orientation in the early <br />morning. She stressed the importance of maintaining the same time frame for <br />each interview. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested City A1torney Light be present at the Special City Council <br />meeting on June 8. <br /> <br />Council member Marsella aslked if Council would go into Executive Session. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light stated the, discussion on the candidates must be in open <br />session. The name of the finalist should not be released until a contract is <br />negotiated. He explained that at the June 8 Special City Council meeting <br />discussion on the merits of the five candidates should be conducted in an open <br />meeting. Council may participate in an executive session for informational <br />purposes only, not deliberation. Council may vote by ballot in an open session. <br />
