Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 11, 2011 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />package for the placement of a monument/directional sign on Lot 1, Block 1 of <br />Centennial Business Park Subdivision with no conditions. <br />Commission Questions of Staff: <br />Russell discussed the poor parking lot circulation and site vision clearance with <br />staff. <br />McCartney acknowledged staff is aware of the poor parking lot circulation, but <br />added the sign would not be a vision clearance hazard. <br />Applicant Presentation: <br />Scott Yeates, Koebel and Company, reviewed the access to the west side of the <br />building. He stated the center is fully leased. He noted the requested sign is a <br />duplication of type, style, etc to the original monument sign for the center. <br />Commission questions of Applicant: <br />Lipton asked if the center needed way-finding signage. <br />Yeates stated he believes the additional monument sign will take care of the <br />problem. <br />Loo and Yeates discussed the proposed wording for the new sign. <br />Yeates stated the tenants do not like to use the words ‘rear’ or ‘back’. <br />Loo asked staff if the applicant has the flexibility to change the wording. <br />McCartney stated the text could be changed but the size and materials cannot be <br />changed. <br />Public Comment: <br />None heard. <br />Summary Comments and Request from Staff and/or Applicant: <br />No additional comments from either staff or the applicant. <br />Closed Public Hearing – Planning Commission Discussion: <br />All of the commissioner stated their support. <br />Russell moved and Sheets seconded a motion to approve Resolution No. 17, <br />Series 2011 a resolution recommending approval of a request to amend the <br />previously approved planned unit development (PUD) plan sign package for the <br />placement of a monument/directional sign on Lot 1, Block 1 of the Centennial <br />Business Park Subdivision. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />NameVote <br />Jeff Lipton Yes <br />Chris Pritchard Yes <br />Susan S.
