Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 19, 2011 <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br />Name Vote <br />Mike Koertje Yes <br />Heather Lewis Yes <br />Jessica Fasick Yes <br />Florian Speier excused <br />Laurel Tofte absent <br />Peter Stewart Yes <br />Steve Poppitz absent <br />Motion passed: 4 to 0 <br />The HPC directed staff to check the details of the windows at time of placement. <br /> <br />Discussion/Action – Commercial Incentives <br />The HPC discussed the notification process which would involve letters to property owners and <br />emails to DBA, LRC, and BRaD. <br />Stewart offered background information of the program to the public in attendance. <br />Garrett McCarthy, owner of Old Louisville Inn, inquired about the program. <br />The HPC answered McCarthy’s questions. <br />McCarthy stated he would like to discuss this further with a representative from the HPC. <br />Stewart volunteered to provide assistance. <br />Stewart then stated the objective is to move forward to City Council. Staff should include the <br />financial plan in the staff report. <br />Koertje stated he would like to revise the commercial incentives a little bit more. <br />Discussion – Grant Program Special Meeting - Recap <br />McCartney presented recap of the meeting. He stated one primary issue heard was <br />regarding the funding for the Museum Coordinator. <br />Koertje stated he wasn’t worried about the funding of the Museum Coordinator, primarily <br />he wanted to see her receive more hours. He also recommended the following: <br /> <br /> HPC and staff should look at the language for Alteration Certificates to make <br />them more user friendly. <br /> <br /> Criteria needed for non-designated historic structures. <br /> <br /> Need to update website and include a page to show projects which have already <br />been funded. <br />McCartney recommended the HPC put together a photo diary of the houses which have <br />received funding. The owners could provide a short story of their experience. <br /> <br />
