<br />repair, moving, removal, conversion, demolition, occupancy, <br /> <br />eqqipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of buildings and <br /> <br />structures for the purpose of protecting the public health, <br /> <br />safety, and general welfare. <br /> <br />SECTION J. The following amendments and deletions are made <br /> <br />to the Uniform Building Code, 1976 edition, as amended: <br /> <br />a. Section JOJ(a) of the Uniform Building Code, 1976 edition <br /> <br />is hereby amended to delete the following from "Table No. <br /> <br />J-A Building Permit Fees" to-wit: <br /> <br />Total Valuation <br /> <br />Fee <br /> <br />$1.00 to $500.00 <br /> <br />$.5.00 <br /> <br />and to add in replacement thereof: <br /> <br />Total Valuation <br /> <br />Fee <br /> <br />o to $2.50.00 <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />$2.50.00 to $.500.00 <br /> <br />$.5.00 <br /> <br />b. The following paragraph is hereby added to Section JOJ <br /> <br />of the Uniform Building Code, 1976 edition: <br /> <br />(e) PE~MIT NOT REQUIRED. A Building Permit will <br />NOT be required for the renovation, remodel and/or <br />repair of an existing residence only where: <br />(1) The work is to be done by the Owner or <br />Occupant, and <br />(2) The size of the structure will not be <br />increased, and <br />(J) The structural members (design) i.e. foundation, <br />underpinning, bearing, or framing, will not <br />be altered or changed, and <br />(4) The scope of the work will exclude any <br />electricals, plumbing and/or heating, and <br />(.5) The TOTAL COST of labor and materials will <br />not exceed $2.50.00. <br /> <br />c.. The following paragraph is hereby deleted from Sections <br /> <br />608, 708, 808, 908, 1108, and 1208: <br /> <br />"Exception: boilers or central heating plants <br />where the largest piece of fuel equipment does <br />not exceed 400,000 BTU per hour input." <br /> <br />d. The following paragraph is hereby added to Section 1407(a): <br /> <br />When, in the opinion of the Building Official, the <br />ceiling heights will work a hardship on the builder <br />to attain in a finished basement, the ceiling height <br />of not less than 7 feet 6 inches may be reduced to <br />6 feet B inches. <br /> <br />s.
