<br />Sec. 1.201. The City Administrator shall be responsible for <br />the administration and enforecment of this Code. Under his <br />direction, the Fire Department, and other persons whom he <br />may designate in writing, shall enforce all ordinances of the <br />jurisdiction pertaining to: <br /> <br />(a) The prevention of fires. <br />(b) The suppression or extinguishing of dangerous or <br />hazardous fires. <br />(c) The storage, wse and handling of explosive, flammable, <br />toxic, corrosive and other hazardous gaseous, solid and liquid <br />materials. <br />(d) The installation and maintenance of automatic, manual, <br />and other private fire alarm systems and fire-extinguishing equipment. <br />(e) The maintenance and regulation of fire escapes. <br />(t) The maintenance of fire protection and the elimination <br />of fire hazards on land and in buildings, structures, a~d other <br />property, including those under construction. <br />(g) The means and adequacy of each exit in the event of <br />fire, from factories, schools, hotels, lodging houses, asylums, hos- <br />pitals, churches, halls, theatres, amphitheatres, and all other places <br />in which people work, live or congregate from time to time for any <br />ptlrpose. <br />{h) The investigation of the cause, ori~in, amd circumstances <br /> <br />of fire. <br /> <br />SECTION J. <br /> <br />At least three (J) copies of the Uniform Fire Code, <br /> <br />1976 Ed~tion, as amended of the International Conference of Building <br /> <br />Officials and the Western Fire Chiefs Association, all certified to <br /> <br />be true shall be available for reference by any interested person <br /> <br />between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, <br /> <br />holidays excepted. <br /> <br />The "Fire Code" as finally adopted shall be <br /> <br />available for sale to the public through the office of the City Clerk <br /> <br />at a moderate price. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. <br /> <br />The following penalty clause is hereby adopted for <br /> <br />all violations of the Uniform Fire Code, 1976 edition, as amended: <br /> <br />Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the pro- <br />visions of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a separ.te <br />offense for each and every day or portion thereof during <br />which any violation of any of the provisions of this Code <br />is committed, continued, or permitted, and upon conviction <br />of any such violation such person shall be punishable by <br />a fine of not more than $JOO or by imprisonment for not more <br />than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> <br />Introduced, read and ordered published this J!l.'1-!-- day of <br /> <br />/} fJ~J1 ) <br /> <br />1977. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted on second and final reading this <br /> <br />J r;t!- da y 0 f <br />. <br /> <br />/f2fiy <br />, <br /> <br />1977. <br /> <br />()j;~~L <br /> <br />,'/ Mayor <br />(/ <br /> <br />ATT}fT: <br /> <br />/J ~ . . <br /> <br />...-/ "'".../ -- <br />Yh-/J/f1Hl) 771,.c: ~tLl__ <br />City Clerk <br />
