<br />c/ <br /> <br />service expansion fee collected, or twenty-five cents per square <br /> <br />foot of floor area, shall be paid into a special and segregated fund <br /> <br />for street improvement. The remaining one half of the service expan- <br /> <br />sion fee shall be used to help defray the expenses of the building <br /> <br />department and the general expenses of the city shall be deposited <br /> <br />into the general fund of the city. <br /> <br />3.16.060 Disbursement of funds from the Street Improvement Fund. <br /> <br />Any and all disbursements from the Street Improvement Fund shall be <br /> <br />strictly limited to the repair or installation of sidewalks and curbs, <br /> <br />street repair, street oVl3rlay and/or seal coating. The city council <br /> <br />may from time to time determine other appropriate purposes for expendi- <br /> <br />tures in the area of street improvement. To the extent feasible and <br /> <br />practicable, the city council shall, within its absolute discretion, <br /> <br />budget the expenditure of funds for street improvement. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Sections 3.24.010(D), 3.24.020, 3.24.030, <br /> <br />3.24.050 and 3.24.060, Chapter 3.24, Title 3 of the Loui'sville <br /> <br />Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. The following sections are hereby added to the <br /> <br />Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> <br />3.24.010(D) "Floor area" means the area included within the <br /> <br />surrounding exterior walls of a building or position thereof, measured <br /> <br />from the inside of all exterior walls. <br /> <br />3.24.020 Funds created. There is hereby created a parks and <br /> <br />recreational fund and a tree fund. All parks and recreatio~al fees <br /> <br />collected in accordance with Section 3.24.030 shall be pq.id into <br /> <br />these special segregated funds as follows: ten cents of e;ach fifty <br /> <br />cents per square foot shall be deposited in the tree fund ait1d the <br /> <br />remaining forty cents per square foot shall be deposited in the <br /> <br />parks and recreational fund. The treasurer shall account separately <br /> <br />for all receipts and disbursements to and from the funds, and shall <br /> <br />not commingle any part of said with other funds of the city. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
