They wish to stay in Louisville and requested consideration of the Business <br /> Assistance Package. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> Mayor Sisk requested clarification on the total amount Business Assistance Package. <br /> Economic Development Director Star stated the total would be under$15,000, at a 50% <br /> level. <br /> Mayor Sisk supported the 75% on the building permit assistance and requested the use <br /> tax be capped at 75%. He asked the applicant for a date certain when he would expand <br /> his business in Louisville. Mr. Yearsley stated they will begin the building permit process <br /> shortly. He explained they would have to relocate employees from the east coast and <br /> close offices there. He hoped to be fully located in Louisville in 2012. <br /> MOTION: Councilor Dalton moved to approve Resolution No. 68, Series 2011, with an <br /> amendment to raise and cap the value of the building permit assistance and use tax at <br /> 75%. Councilor Sackett seconded the motion. Roll call vote was taken. The motion <br /> carried by a vote of 7-0. <br /> CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNUAL UPDATE <br /> • Louisville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shelley Angell thanked the City <br /> Council and the Street and Parks Division for their support of their two annual events; <br /> the Taste of Louisville and the Parade of Lights. She noted this year's Taste of <br /> Louisville was the most successful event ever. She updated Council on the Chambers <br /> activities over the last year including the first Louisville/Lafayette Joint Business <br /> Showcase; preparation of the Chamber Directory for 2012, with a large listing for <br /> ConocoPhillips, and the Ambassador's Program, which consists of five site visits a <br /> quarter to Louisville businesses. She introduced Louisville Chamber of Commerce <br /> members, Administrator Lani Melvin, President John Benedetti, and Director Sharon <br /> Szabados. They presented a clock to Mayor Sisk for his dedicated service to the City of <br /> Louisville. <br /> BI-MONTHLY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a staff presentation. <br /> Economic Development Director Star updated Council on the following Economic <br /> Developments in Louisville: <br /> • Sam's Club —Investors may be interested in buying and dividing the building for <br /> smaller users. Financing is not available until about 95,000 square feet is leased. <br /> • • Safeway. (Village Square Shopping Center) - The contract purchaser has <br /> received staff comments and is revising his plans for multi-use at this site. <br />
