<br />ORDINANCE NO. 579 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND <br />UPDATING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF <br />THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there arE~ various sections of the Louisville Municipal <br /> <br />Code which need to be updated and amended; and I <br /> <br />WHEREAS I a number of amendments are needed to clarify various <br /> <br />sections of the Municipal Code. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> <br />THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Sections 1.16.030 and 1.24.020, Chapter 1.16 <br /> <br />and 1.24 of the Louisville Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The following section is hereby added to Chapter <br /> <br />1.16, Title 1 of the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> <br />1 . 16.030 Vote Required <br /> <br />All ordinances and all resolutions and orders for the <br />appropriation of money shall require for their passage or adoption <br />the concurrence of a majority of all the members elected to the <br />city council. All ordinances which are to take effect under an <br />emergency clause shall require an affirmative vote of three-fourts <br />of all the members elected to the city council. All other actions <br />of the city council upon which a vote is taken shall require the <br />concurrence of a majority of those present if a quorum exists. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Section 2.04.010, Chapter 2.04 I Title 2 of the <br /> <br />Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to strike any reference <br /> <br />to the term "health commissioner" . <br /> <br />SECTION 4. Sections 2.12.010 and 2.12.050, Chapter 2.12 of <br /> <br />the Louisville Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. The following sections are hereby added to Chapter <br /> <br />2.12 I Title 2 of the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> <br />2.12.010 Meetings - Regular <br /> <br />Regular meetings of the city council shall be held at the <br />council chambers on the first and third Tuesdays of each and every <br />month. Whenever any regular meeting is scheduled for a legal <br />holiday I or if due to othE~r circumstances the council chooses to <br />reschedule a meeting, the meeting shall be continued and rescheduled <br />for a time designated by city council. In case any hearing or pro- <br />ceeding has been set for any such day, the same shall not abate, but <br />shall be continued to the next meeting. The mayor and any three <br />members of the council may call special meetings by notice to each <br />of the members personally served or left at his usual place of <br />residence. All meetings shall at all times be open to the public. <br />
