The motion passed by a vote of 5 - 2. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1328, SERIES 2000 - AN ORDINANCE CALLING FOR A <br /> SPECIAL ELECTION - 1sT reading - set public hearing 02/15/00 <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney Introduction. <br /> <br />Sam Light, City Attorney read Ordinance No. 1328, Series 2000 - An Ordinance Calling <br />a Special Election, first reading. The ordinance would set forth a Special Election to be <br />conducted on April 11, 2000. This is the latest date to conduct an election on the <br />ordinance proposed by initiative. The ordinance states that the City Council will submit <br />matters to the voters by appropriate resolution or ordinance, as required by law. This <br />includes the ballot title procedures contained in Ordinance No. 1321 as well as applicable <br />state statutes. The timeline includes a special meeting for the purpose of fixing ballot <br />titles, and it states that it will be a mail ballot rather than a polling place election. An <br />updated calendar was also submitted, providing a special meeting on February 22, 2000 <br />to fix ballot titles on any of the measures put on the ballot. <br /> <br />Keany moved Ordinance No. 1328, Series 2000, An Ordinance Calling For A Special <br />Election, out for publication and set the public hearing for February 15, 2000, seconded <br />by Sisk.
