'-1.' t: {_ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE PRACTICAL SAFEGUARDING TO <br />A REASONABLE DEGREE OF LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM THE HAZARDS <br />OF FIRE AND EXPLOSION ARISING FROM THE STORAGE, HANDLING <br />AND USE OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES, MATERIALS AND DEVICES, <br />AND FROM CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE OR PROPERTY IN THE <br />USE OR OCCUPANCY OF BUILDINGS OR PREMISES IN THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THERETO, <br />THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1973 EDITION, OF INTERNATIONAL <br />CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS <br />ASSOCIATION, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE IN CONFLICT OR INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF <br />SAID FIRE CODE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Louisville has made a <br />thorough study of the 1973 edition of the Uniform Fire Code; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the same should <br /> <br />be adopted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Adoption. Pursuant to Chapter 139, Article 34, Colorado <br />Revi sed Statutes, 1963, as amE!nded, there is hereby adopted as the Fi re Code <br />of the City of Louisville, by reference thereto, the Uniform Fire Code, 1973 <br />Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Officials and <br />the Western Fire Chiefs Association, 5360 South Workman Mill Road, Whittier, <br /> <br />California, to have the same force and effect as if set forth herein in every <br /> <br />particular. The subject matte.r of the adopted code includes comprehensive <br />provisions and standards regulating the storage, handling and use of hazard- <br /> <br />ous substances, materials and devices, and from conditons hazardous to life <br /> <br />or property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises in the City of <br /> <br />Louisville, Colorado for the purpose of protecting the public health, safety, <br />and general welfare from the hazards of fire and explosion. <br />Section 2. Amendments. Section 1.201 of the Uniform Fire Code is <br /> <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 1.201.
