<br />O;;lliINANCE # 515 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING VAKIOUS <br />ADMTNISTl"tATIVE AND P.L:RSONNEL SECTIONS OF TEE <br />LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE:. <br /> <br />BE IT OKDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, <br />COLORADO. <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section J.J of the Louisville Municipal Code is <br />hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The following section is hereby added to Chapter <br />J of the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> <br />Section J.J Qualification of Officers. <br /> <br />Every qualified elector who has been a resident of the city <br />for a period of twelve months preceding an election is eligible <br />to hold any office to be filled by a municipal election. A <br />qualified elector must be a resident of the ward which he is elected <br />to represent. <br /> <br />SECTION J. Section 4.7 of the Louisville Municipal Code is <br />hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. The following section is hereby added to Chapter <br />4 of the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> <br />Section 4.7 Appointive Officers--Appointments and <br />Removal. <br /> <br />Each city council upon taking office shall proceed to the <br />election and appointment of the following officers: one city <br />attorney, one health commissioner, a municipal judge, and such other <br />officers as may be required by statute or these ordinances. In <br />the election of such officers, the mayor may vote only in the case <br />of a tie. One person may hold two or more offices if compatible <br />with the interest of the city government. Each and every such <br />officer may be removed by a majority vote of the council on charges <br />of incompetence, unfitness, neglect of duty or insubordination, <br />duly made and sustained. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. The following sections of Chapter 4 are hereby <br />added to the Louisville Municipal Code: <br /> <br />Section 4.5-1 Duty to Keep Records. <br /> <br />The city clerk shall have the custody of all the laws, ordinances, <br />and resolution of the city and shall keep a regular and correct <br />journal of the proceedings of the council. He shall record all <br />ordinances and resolutions passed by the council in books provided <br />for such purpose and shall publish all ordinances and other matters <br />requiring publication and keep proofs thereof. He shall keep on <br />file all contracts and leases to which the city is a party, all <br />deeds and other instruments relating to city owned real estate, and <br />all reports of officers to the council. He shall have custody of <br />the seal of the city and shall affix the same to all instruments <br />as may be required. He shall perform such other duties as may be <br />required by these ordinances. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
