Revitalization Commission <br />Agenda <br />October 10, 2011 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />PM. Mayor stated the need for Hwy 42 to be a street with character and <br />one that does more than convey traffic. Mayor mentioned that Dan <br />Hartman (public works) at Golden has been a champion for good street <br />design. Troy stated that the data will be important, but it will also be <br />critical to define a community vision for the corridor with the community. <br />Troy asked the LRC to think about what they want the corridor to be in the <br />future. Troy stated that a key consideration in the study will be the role of <br />thru- study. Gavin stated the need to talk about the strengths of the <br />corridor with the LRC. <br />VIII. Update - Boulder County property assessments <br />• Bonnie mentioned the memo in the packet from the Finance Director and <br />asked LRC to review results <br />IX. Business Matters of Commission <br />• Discussion of Topics for the planned October 11 study session <br />with City Council — The LRC wants to focus on the importance <br />of the South Street underpass. Bonnie noted that the packet <br />memo contains a list of the last year's work. <br />b. Discussion of off -site signs in downtown <br />• Troy has been working with his staff and the code on sign <br />regulations. Off - premise has been discussed by planning and <br />police. At next month's LRC meeting, we will have a more in- <br />depth discussion of municipally sponsored signs. <br />X. Development Referrals <br />a. Update on Safeway review timing <br />• Two Planning Commission meetings will occur in January 2012 <br />b. North End Parcel 1- includes 65,000 SF commercial <br />• The proposal is working thru the process. The commercial area is <br />within the LRC district boundaries. The plan includes a <br />commercial parcel with no specific layout yet. <br />XI. Discussion Items for Next Meeting November 14, 2011 @ 7:30 AM, Louisville <br />Public Library 1st Floor Conference Room <br />• LRC will talk about their vision for Highway 42 <br />• Discussion of off -site signage <br />XII. Commissioners' Comments: <br />• Carlos asked Sam for a refresher of LRC's role in election <br />conversations. Sam reminded LRC members of key points of the <br />city's code of conduct. <br />XIII. Adjourn <br />9:15 <br />
