APPROVAL OF CURRENT MEETING’S AGENDA:
The agenda was approved
without changes.
APPROVAL OF PAST MONTH’S MEETING MINUTES:
IV.The minutes of the previous
meeting on September 21, 2011, were approved unanimously.
V.PUBLIC COMMENTS NOT ON THE AGENDA:
None.
VI.Tour of Sustainable Homes
Andy gave a brief synopsis of the event, noting that it was a successful tour in that we
had approx 300 attendees (Boulder County as a whole) and about 200 signed up for
EnergySmart (about double what was expected). He noted that the event has typically
done better on Saturdays, benefitting in part from the Farmer's Market foot traffic.
Mark asked whether Andy felt that sufficient advertising was done, and Andy
responded that in fact more had been done than in prior years, when attendance has
been as highas 1200. Although the EnergySmart program was a key beneficiary, that
program ends in July 2012, and the CRC Energy department has had budget
challenges, so Andy feels the tour may not have sufficient backing next year.
VII Update on Growing of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) on Boulder
County Open Space –possible LSAB recommendation?
Annie provided an update on efforts to coordinate LSAB with other Advisory Boards.
She requested volunteers for attending an OSAB meeting as an initial step. She noted
that it was not necessary to meet with the Horticulture Board since they are not
involved in agriculture on public lands. Annie asked if everyone had read the emails
regarding the GMO issue and whether they supported the LSAB stance against GMO
on public lands. Andy stated he supported it however questioned whether it should be
part of LSAB goals. Mary Ann, Ted, Arno, and Dave also stated support for a ban,
City of Louisville
Public Works Department 749 Main Street
Louisville CO 80027
303.335.4608(phone) 303.335.4550(fax) www.louisvilleco.gov
