"13-1-32" Water Line Extension Policy. Any individual, firm, or co,rporation desiring an extension of the City water system to serve his private property shall pay the entire cost of extending the City water service to his property and shall deed to the City all water lines and improvements necessary to extend the service to his property. The City shall pay the cost of any oversize pipe which the city requires to serve any indi v'idual property as a result of any master plan which is adopted by the City for water service within or ou.tside of the existing City limits. All exten- sions, shall conform to City specifications. In the event~ any user is required to extend a main adjacent to la.nd not owned or controlled by him, the City will negot~iate a repayment agreement with the user which will allow said user to recoup as much of the cost of the extension between the boundary of his land and the nearest properly sized City water main as can be agrreed upon. "13-1-33" Oversizing--City Participation. If the size line re- quirE~d to serve a subdivision or individual is smaller than the size line the City wishes installed for sound future planning, then the City will participate in the over sizing of the pipe from a minimum of 8" to the size the City wishes to be installed. In no event will the City participate in any size pipe line re- quirEld to serve a given subdivision or other develop- ment. "13-1-34" Inside City Waterline Modifications. The City recog- nizes its responsibility as relates to water service to eJdsting, developed platted property within the City which is already served by water mains and fire hydrants which may be inadequate for conformance with sound engineering and public safety standards. When necessity arises for enlarging or replacing or otheJ:~wise upgrading the water distribution system in an existing, platted, developed area already servE~d by City water, the improvements will be made by the City of Louisville. If such improvements are made necessary by the development of a new subdivision which is to be served by a water main passing through an a]~ea described above, then the city may require the developer to negotiate a participation agreement with the City for the cost of the improvements. Section 3. RepE~al of Ordinances. That all other ordinances or parts or provisions ojE the MUNICIPAL CODE OF the City of Louisville in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. -4-
