<br />ORDINANCE 407 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED "ANNEXATION STANDARDS" BY <br />REDEFINING ANNEXATION STANDARDS AND REQUIREMENTS <br />AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF THE <br />LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 18 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 18 <br /> <br />18.1 Purpose <br />18.2 Eligibility for Annexation <br />18.3 Development Requirements <br />18.4 City Council Action <br /> <br />18.5 "Outside" Water Policy <br /> <br />18.1 Purpose. The following annexation standards should be used as a <br />guide in the processing of annexation petitions in order to minimize any <br />misunderstanding and unnecessary expense to both property owners and the <br />City of Louisville. <br /> <br />18.2 Eligibility for Annexation. Details should be checked by an <br />attorney representing the petitioners; however, the following requirements <br />of the State of Colorado governing annexation shall be required when annexation <br />is requested: <br /> <br />(a) Owners of more than 50% of the area to be annexed shall sign the <br />the petition for annexation. <br /> <br />(b) The petition shall be accompanied by four copies of a map showing <br />the area proposed for annexation. <br /> <br />(c) Not less than one-sixth the outside perimeter of the area to be <br />annexed shall be contiguous to existing city limits. <br /> <br />(d) No property owned in a separate tract shall be divided by the <br />boundary of the proposed annexation without consent of such property <br />owner. <br /> <br />18.3 Development Requirements. In addition to the above mentioned <br />legal statute requirements, the following standards of the City of Louisville <br />shall be met: <br /> <br />(a) Areas of less than 5 acres in size shall ordinarily not be annexed, <br />except that in unusual cases sma]er tracts may be annexed at the <br />discretion of the City Council; <br /> <br />(b) Annexed areas shall not divide tracts in order to prevent further <br />annexation of adjoining parcels; <br /> <br />(c) Areas which project out from existing city limits in a manner which <br />
