<br />Division 2. Permit <br /> <br />Sec. 22 8-10. Required. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to dig up, open, excavate or to <br />cause to be dug up, opened or excavated any street, alley, sidewalk or other <br />public place inthe city without first having secured a permit therefor from <br />the city administrator or his authorized representative. <br /> <br />Sec. 22 8-11. Application. <br /> <br />Application for a permit to excavate required by this division shall be <br />made upon a blank form provided by the city administrator or his authorized <br />representative, and shall recite specifically and illustrate by sketch or <br />plan the exact location, depth, extent, nature and purpose of the excavation <br />desired to be made, the purpose for which the privilege is requested and the <br />duration of time required for the work. <br /> <br />Sec. 22 8-12. Fee. <br /> <br />No permit to excavate in any street or alley shall be issued unless the <br />applicant therefor shall have first paid to the city the required fee based <br />on the following schedule: <br /> <br />Minimum excavation fee <br />Excavation in asphalt or concrete <br /> <br />Excavations in gravel <br /> <br />Excavations in dirt <br /> <br />$5.00 <br />6.00 per square yard or portion <br />thereof <br />4.00 per square yard or portion <br />thereof <br />.50per square yard or portion <br />thereof <br /> <br />Sec. 22 8-13. Issuance. <br /> <br />The city administrator shall grant permits to dig in, open, excavate, <br />or cause to be dug up, opened or excavated any street, alley, sidewalk, or <br />other public place in the city to the following: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Any person possessing by ordinance, resolution or contract of the <br />city council, general or special power to excavate in or perform <br />other work as aforesaid in or upon the streets, alleys, sidewalks, <br />or other public places. <br />Any person properly licensed under the provisions of this code <br />filing application as provided in this division, which application <br />shall pertain to excavation work which will comply with the <br />requirements of this division. <br /> <br />Sec. 22 8-14. To be kept and exhibited at site. <br /> <br />(2 ) <br /> <br />The permit required by this division shall be kept at the site of the <br />excavation while the work is in progress and shall be exhibited upon request <br />to any police officer or other authorized representative of the city admini- <br />strator. <br /> <br />Sec. 22 8-15. Issuance for one excavation only and definite time. <br /> <br />No permit issued under the provisions of this division shall be for <br />more than one (1) excavation project for which a definite time limit shall be <br />established by the city. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
