<br />(e) When any employee is promoted to a class with a higher pay <br />grade, the entrance salary rate shall be the lowest rate infue higher <br />salary schedule that will provide an increase over the salary received <br />prior to such promotion. <br />(f) Employees shall be compensated for authorized over-time work <br />at the rate of time and one-half in cash or time and one-half in work <br />time, whichever is agreed upon between the City Administrator and the <br />employee. Only such hours as are worked in excess of the prescribed <br />basic work week shall be so compensated. <br />(g) An officer or employee of the City who is required and spec- <br />ifically authorized by the City Administrator to operate his personally <br />owned automobile in conduct of City business shall be paid a mileage <br />allowance in the amount of fifteen cents ($ .15) per mile. Reimburse~ <br />ment for other authorized expenses will be on a cost basis. Receipts <br />shall be attached to expense vouchers. <br />Section 4A-4. Discipline or Discharge. A City employee may be <br />discharged or disciplined for any of the following reasons: <br />(1) Refusal or inability to follow orders. <br />(2) Inefficiency. <br />(3) Violation of departmental regulations, general regulations <br />or laws. I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />(4) Drinking on the job, or working under the influence of alcohol. <br />I <br /> <br />(5) Excessive tardiness. <br />(6) Wilful destruction of City property. <br />Section 4A-5. Holidays Generally. The following days are declared <br />paid holidays for all permanent and probationary employees with the <br />exception of police personnel: <br />(1) The first day of January (New Year's Day). <br />(2) The twenty-second day of February (Washington's Birthday). <br />(3) The thirtieth day of May (Memorial Day). <br />(4) The fourth of J01y (Independence Day). <br /> <br />- 5 - <br />
