Local Licensing Authority.
Minutes
June.27, 2011
• Rommelfanger moved the tastings application for the retail liquor store Down Under
Liquor be granted. Machado seconded. All in favor.
Police Department Reports
This incident involved a disturbance by two females. The liquor store called the police
department and the situation was taken care of. The Authority members felt the store
did a good job of taking care of the incident. There was discussion about sending a
letter and Authority Member Rommelfanger said he would stop by the establishment
and mention the situation was well handled.
Secretary's Report
Hanson thanked the police department for providing seller/server training on May 22.
She noted there were several outside cities sending attendees. She reported an
administrative issuance of a Special Events Permit and one coming up in July. She
talked about the legislation approved at the State level which would put the Special
Events Permit approval only at the local level. Rommelfanger asked about the ability to
require the applicant to appear before the Authority to answer questions concerning
their event.
Authority Attorney's Report
• No report.
Authority Comment
Gunning asked about the schedule for the seller/server training. Rommelfanger and
Machado inquired as well. Secretary Hanson responded they were quarterly and she
would let them know.
Discussion Items for Next Meeting —July 25, 2011
Rommelfanger wanted more discussion about having special events applicants appear.
Adjourn — Rommelfanger moved to adjourn. Machado seconded. All in favor. The
meeting was adjourned at 8:01 p.m.
The meeting was called back to order at 8:03 p.m. to re-open the Secretary's Report.
Hanson reported she had been asked by the Downtown Business Association to include
an area in the Special Events Permit not previously included. After discussion, the
Authority members felt it unnecessary to include it this year but were not averse to
considering it with next year's application.
•
