Louisville City Council Meeting
April 4, 2000
Page 22.

Sam Light, City Attorney read Ordinance No. 1336, Series 2000, An Ordinance
Authorizing the Payment of City Moneys for the Acquisition of Vacant Real Estate and
Water Rights for Open Space Purposes - Esmail Property, Northeast Comer Hwy 42 &
Empire Road.

Davidson called for Staff Presentation.

MOTION: Davidson moved that Council set Ordinance No. 1336, Series 2000, An
Ordinance Authorizing the Payment of city Moneys for the Acquisition of Vacant Real
Estate and Water Rights for Open Space Purposes - Esmail Property, Northeast Comer
Hwy 42 & Empire Road out for publication and set the public hearing for April 18, 2000,
seconded by Sisk. All in favor.

CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT

Sam Light, City Attorney stated that his office would review the matter of Special
Review Use for Charter School.

CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT

Bill Simmons, City Administrator reported that the Planning Department has a new site
on the City's Web Page where all planning activities will be listed.

Simmons also reported on the April 11, 2000 work session. Included will be discussions
with the Northwest Parkway Public Highway Authority on possible amendments of route
locations pertaining to Louisville. There will also be an update on the status of 96th
Street/Highway 42. Simmons reported that the Peddlers License would also be reviewed.

Simmons reported that Staff has received the traffic study from PBS & J regarding the
plan to convert several city streets in the downtown area to parking. The conclusion was
that the closing Front and Walnut Street and the conversion of South Street from two-way
to one-way would have negligible impact on the downtown circulation. He noted there
are some areas of concern and once they are clarified, this item could be put on a work
session for April.

Sisk asked Simmons to email the report to Council when it is complete.

22
