Louisville City Council Meeting <br />April 4, 2000 <br />Page 23. <br /> <br />Tom Phare, Director of Public Works informed Mayor and City Council that on Tuesday, <br />April 11, 2000, there would be a presentation to the Chamber of Commerce of the 96th <br />Street meeting. The meeting will be held at the Recreation Center. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Howard stated that he would not be ax;ailable for next work session. <br /> <br />Brown reported that several residents have contacted him and expressed the need for an <br />indoor inline hockey rink. They have stressed that there is very high demand for such a <br />facility. Brown also reported that he had received citizen feedback relative to a new <br />indoor swimming pool and noted that several good ideas were offered. <br /> <br />Simmons stated that there might be possible land acquisition fOr such purposes. <br /> <br />Brown expressed his dismay with the charter school proposal at the CTC Park. He stated <br />there might be an opportunity to meet a demand for additional schools, however the area <br />in question was not planned for that type of use. He stated that opportunities still exist <br />for open'discussion to resolve this issue. <br /> <br />Sisk commented that the City's new web site has vastly improved and he commended <br />Meredyth Muth for her work. <br /> <br />Mayer stated he attended a Ward II meeting on the 96th street connection. He stated that <br />this is an area of significant interest for the residents of south Louisville. <br /> <br />Keany stated that his family is experiencing medical problems and therefore, has decided <br />not to run for State Representative,' District #13. He stated that if problems persist and <br />interfere with his council responsibilities, he would resign. <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Sisk moved that Council adjourn (9:37p.m.), seconded by Howard.
