City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> November 15, 2011 <br /> Page 3 of 16 <br /> opportunity to participate in the process leading to the franchise agreement with <br /> Comcast. <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Councilor Loo reported on speaking with Boy Scout Troop 82 and she thanked them for <br /> the invitation. She encouraged the scouts to keep up the enthusiasm and promoting <br /> ideas to make the City better. <br /> Mayor Muckle responded to Mr. Sobel and stated he did not agree with his statement <br /> about the cable television franchise process. He felt the City worked hard to get the <br /> best agreement allowable under the telecommunications act at the time. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming reported on the following items: <br /> - Hwy. 42 Gateway kickoff meeting —thanked everyone for attending, and their <br /> help with the vision for this process. <br /> - Branch drop-off site —closed now but will re-open on December 3 and 4. Will <br /> be open at least one weekend a month. He encouraged residents to go get <br /> mulch at the Sports Complex. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO TEM <br /> Mayor Muckle opened the nominations for Mayor Pro Tern. He suggested the Council <br /> vote by hand or voice count. Councilor Sackett nominated Councilor Yarnell for Mayor <br /> Pro Tern. Councilor Keany nominated Councilor Dalton for Mayor Pro Tern. A vote by <br /> show of hands resulted in a 3-3 tie. Mayor Muckle moved Council table the election of <br /> Mayor Pro Tern until December 20 meeting. Councilor Keany seconded. After Council <br /> discussion, Councilor Keany added an amendment to move the election to the January <br /> 3, 2012 meeting. Mayor Muckle agreed and called for a vote on the motion with the <br /> amendment. All in favor. <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS <br /> COMMITTEES - APPOINTEE <br /> Boulder County Consortium of Cities - Mayor Muckle, new Ward I Councilor (alternate) <br /> Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) — Councilors Dalton, Loo <br /> • (alternate) <br /> Superior/Louisville Joint Interest Committee— Councilors Yarnell, Keany <br /> 36 Commuting Solutions— Councilor Loo. <br />
