Proposed Second Reading Amendments Ordinance No. , Series 2011, is revised to read as follows (amendments proposed for second reading are shown in bold underline and ): ORDINANCE NO. SERIES 2011 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15.36 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE PROCEDURES APPLICABLE TO DEMOLITION REVIEW OF BUILDINGS THAT ARE OVER FIFTY YEARS OLD. WHEREAS, by Ordinance Nos. 1463 and 1476, Series 2005, and Ordinance No. 1538, Series 2008, codified in Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code, the City has adopted provisions concerning historic preservation; and WHEREAS, Section 15.36.200 of the Louisville Municipal Code sets forth procedures for demolition review of buildings that are over fifty years: and WHEREAS, the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission has forwarded to the City Council the amendments to the historic preservation ordinance as set forth herein in order to further advance the purposes and implementation of the City's historic preservation ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code to revise and clarify the procedures for demolition review of buildings that are over fifty years; NOW THEREFORE '''BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. Section 15.36.020 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to delete in its entirety the definition for "Demolition or demolish" and insert in place thereof the following: Demolition or demolish: Any act or process which removes one or more of the following: (a) Fifty percent or more of the roof area as measured from directly above across a horizontal plane (see diagram). The shaded area illustrates the maximum amount that may be removed without constituting demolition as defined by this provision.
