Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 21, 2011 <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />McCartney stated there would be an advertisement, short list, interview and then a <br />choice. He recommended that an HPC representative be designated for the review <br />panel. <br />HPC recommended staff proceed move forward with RFP. <br />Update – Demolition Ordinance <br />McCartney presented report. <br />Koertje stated the language in the draft Ordinance is not what the HPC had asked. He <br />stated there should be a reference to “heirs”. <br />McCartney stated this was the language which was discussed. He recommended the <br />HPC redline the draft ordinance so he could place it in the Council packets for second <br />reading. <br />Public Comment <br />John Leary asked for clarification s to why the application must be specific to the <br />applicant. <br />Stewart answered it would give the new owner an opportunity to speak with HPC about <br />the benefits of retaining the structure. <br />Leary stated the HPC should require the application to be specific to the applicant. <br />Update – 2012 CLG Grant <br />McCartney presented the memo and explained what the CLG Grant was for. <br />The HPC appreciated the work and the update. <br />Committee Reports – none <br />Update on Demolition Request – Rod and Gun Club <br />McCartney presented the memo. Stated the applicant will be abating the structure for <br />any asbestos. <br />HPC appreciated the update but wished more could be done to save the structure. <br />Department Referrals – none <br />Updates – none <br />Items from Staff – <br /> <br />
