<br />Louisville City Council Meeting <br />March 17, 2005 <br />Page 6 of9 <br /> <br />Council member Marsella thanked the consultants, City Staff and the Library Steering <br />Committee for their work, and stressed cuts were made to bring the project within budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Library Director Anne Mojo if any of the cuts would have a negative <br />impact on the library. Library Director Mojo stressed the cuts would not change the <br />functionality of the library. She voiced her pleasure with the proposed building and the <br />quality of the materials of the buildings interior. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stated underground parking may be a consideration for parking in the <br />downtown area. He voiced his appreciation with the Library Steering Committee, City <br />Staff, Humphries Poli Architects, Adolfson & Peterson Construction, Paul Wember, and <br />the City Council. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Billy O'Donnell, 247 Hover Court, Louisville, CO, urged Council to go forward with the <br />new library proj ect. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Marsella moved that Council approve the Guaranteed <br />Maximum Price to Adolfson & Peterson Construction for $7,611,655, and an additional <br />contingency of $285,404 with 1 % designated as design contingency, and 3% as <br />construction contingency, for a total of $7,897,069. Council member Keany seconded the <br />motion. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk offered a friendly amendment that the Mayor be authorized to execute the <br />contract. Council members Marsella and Keany accepted the amendment. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of7-0. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons asked a representative from Adolfson & Peterson to outline what <br />would be occurring at the library site in the next few weeks. Adolfson & Peterson Project <br />Manager Alan Antolak, stated construction fencing will be erected; the asphalt and <br />concrete will be removed and recycled, and drilling and excavation will begin. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE No. 1466, SERIES 2005 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 10.04 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE <br />MINIMUM FINES AND ADDITIONAL ENFORCEMENT MECHANISMS FOR <br />PARKING VIOLATIONS - 1 st reading - set public hearing 4/5/05 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1466, Series 2005. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons explained the ordinance raises the minimum fines for <br />parking and sets forth a procedure for the non-payment of fines. <br /> <br />6 <br />
