<br />Louisville City Council Meeting <br />March 17, 2005 <br />Page 9 of9 <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported that on March 8, the Town of Superior received <br />bids on the McCaslin Interchange Phase I Construction. On March 11, Louisville and <br />Superior reviewed those bids. On March 14, the Town of Superior Board of Trustees <br />awarded the bid to Sieman Construction Company in the amount of$6,095,095. The <br />latest project costs are anticipated $7,821,886. The project received $3.5 million dollars <br />of federal assistance, bringing down the total cost of the project. The Town of Superior is <br />responsible for the first 5 million, and it is not anticipated that Louisville will be <br />responsible for any part of the Phase I construction. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported he and Council member Levihn attended a meeting where it was <br />reported the McCaslin Bridge will be closed for a period of time during the construction. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reported the Planning Commission reviewed Chapters 1 and 2 of <br />the Comprehensive Development Plan at their March 15,2005 meeting. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Council member Keany reported on a positive article concerning Louisville electronics <br />businesses. He stated the City of Denver has a Mile High Scholars Award and Mile High <br />Teachers Award, and suggested implementing such programs in Louisville. He requested <br />that outgoing board and commission members receive a proclamation of appreciation. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk introduced and welcomed Kelly King from the Louisville Times and Lonnie <br />Rose of NIT A. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Brown moved for adjournment (8:40 p.m.), seconded by <br />Mayor Sisk.
