<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 5, 2005 <br />Page 9 of 12 <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1464, Series 2005, and noted this is <br />first reading of the ordinance. He stated Mr. Todd Anderson, representing of <br />Public Service is available to address Council questions. <br /> <br />Todd Anderson, Xcel Energy, thanked Council for permitting him to address <br />Council questions and concerns. <br /> <br />Council member Brown noted Louisville residents report power outages and <br />delays in repairs, and some street lights are on all of the time. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson noted street light services are repaired through an on-line system. <br />He explained his office is located in Boulder and would be available to address <br />citizen concerns. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Heather Balser reported that Mr. Pete West will be in <br />attendance at the second reading of the ordinance. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stated with the new library project, the City will work with Xcel Energy <br />on an ongoing basis. He asked that Louisville citizens also be permitted to call <br />Mr. Anderson with their concerns. He noted other municipalities negotiated <br />franchise agreements and asked Mr. Anderson to share that information with the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Council member Keany addressed the relocation of a gas line at Dillon Road and <br />encouraged Mr. Anderson to involve the Louisville Fire Protection District prior to <br />relocation of the line. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Ordinance No. 1464, Series 2005 be sent out <br />for publication and a public hearing be set for April 19, 2005, seconded by <br />Council member Brown. All in favor <br /> <br />UPDATE - LIBRARY PROJECT <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd updated Council on the progress of the <br />Louisville Public Library project. Work began on Monday, March 28 and included <br />construction site fencing, clearing and removal of vegetation, asphalt, concrete <br />and utility boxes. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Saturday, April 2, <br />at 9:30 a.m. From April 4 to April 8, the demolition of concrete and asphalt will <br />continue and fire hydrant and storm inlets will be relocated. <br />It was determined the Xcel gas line between Walnut and Spruce would have to <br />be relocated to accommodate the foundation shoring. The alley will be closed for <br />3-4 days during the week of April 4. Businesses in the block were notified. The <br />first weekly Owners/Architects/Contractors meeting was held on March 31. <br />Future monthly meetings will be held on the first Thursday of each month, at 8:30 <br />
