She noted that a meeting was held in Lafayette in March,
where the needs for a Center were defined. Tierney stated that they would like to meet
with Council at a work session to discuss this issue.

April Christensen, 2066 Eisenhower Drive, stated that she is a member of the Timberline
Orchestra, which has about 80 members. She stated that they currently use Centaurus
High School, when it is available. She noted it is difficult to acquire rehearsal time as
space is limited and several times they have been bumped by a school function. She
stated that they too would like to participate in a work session with Council to discuss a
Performing Arts Center for East Boulder County.

Tim Hoar, 762 W. Willow, addressed the power lines issue and stated that he lives
immediately adjacent to the power lines. He suggested that where the power lines would
not effect homes or public facilities, they should remain above ground. He also suggested
that a third party bid on the burial of the power lines and asked the City to initiate the
process. He addressed the cost of burying the power lines and asked who would bear the
cost, the citizens or the City. He understood that a Special Improvement District might be
considered. He noted that the power lines along the open space would affect all the bike
paths, the Recreation Center and the school.

COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON
THE AGENDA.

Mayer asked if the City could look into acquiring an independent assessment for burial of
the power lines.

2
