<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 6, 2005 <br />Page 3 of 18 <br /> <br />on Opportunity Area #7 of the Comp Plan, did not disclose her reason, and later <br />voted on the Plan. He stressed the importance of clearing the record and asked <br />Council member Van Pelt to disclose her reasons for recusing herself. <br /> <br />Boo Champion, 1603-M Cottonwood Drive, Louisville, CO requested the <br />Cottonwood corridor be preserved. She explained the land is a wildlife refuge, <br />connects to trails and where neighbors gather. She stressed the importance of <br />the corridor and requested the City consider purchasing this land for open space. <br /> <br />Patricia lrby, 1590 Garfield Avenue, #H, Louisville, CO voiced her appreciation <br />for the Cottonwood corridor open space. <br /> <br />Aaron Davis, 1609 Cottonwood Drive, #4, Louisville, CO also supported <br />preserving the Cottonwood area. <br /> <br />Jim Taylor, 153 Harper, Louisville, CO voiced his appreciation for the <br />Cottonwood corridor. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br />THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Council member Brown congratulated the volunteers who helped make the City's <br />Fall Festival a success, and expressed his thanks to Elle and Roger Cabbage. <br />He addressed the Cottonwood Park issue, and explained the property is currently <br />under contract. He asked the public to be patient with the process, and noted the <br />City has limited funds for open space acquisition. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk addressed Mr. Deborski's concerns relative to the roadway through <br />his property and stated the final decision has not been made. He addressed the <br />Cottonwood corridor issue, and urged the residents to work in a collaborative <br />manner with the Planning Commission and Council should a development plan <br />come forward. Relative to Mr. Leary's comment, Mayor Sisk voiced his utmost <br />respect, admiration, faith and support for Council member Van Pelt. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />PRESENTATION - ACCEPTANCE OF RECOGNITION FROM MONEY <br />MAGAZINE - LOUISVILLE ONE OF THE MONEY'S BEST PLACES TO LIVE <br />IN AMERICA <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported in August of 2005, the City of Louisville was selected by <br />Money Magazine as number 5 in its annual listing as one of America's Best <br />Places to Live. Mayor Sisk and the City Council accepted an award. <br />
