<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 20, 2005 <br />Page 11 of 15 <br /> <br />Council member Keany reported City Staff, the City's Consultant and Comcast <br />are involved in ongoing discussions. He also reported on a meeting with Peter <br />Stewart relative to CCTV. He noted the equipment the City is negotiating for, will <br />remain as the property of the City. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment and hearing none closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons commented with respect to Comcast, it will be business <br />as usual, and there will be no disruption of services. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Keany moved for approval of Ordinance No. 1479, <br />Series 2005, seconded by Council member Brown. Roll call vote was taken. <br />The motion carried by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 43, SERIES 2005 - A RESOLUTION CONCERNING AUDIT <br />PROCEDURES RELATED TO THE PROPOSED USE TAX TO BE <br />CONSIDERED BY THE REGISTERED ELECTORS AT THE NOVEMBER 1, <br />2005 ELECTION <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Finance Director Leslie explained the Council requested a statement of intent <br />regarding audit procedures related to the TABOR ballot issue for the proposed <br />use tax. Resolution No. 43, Series 2005 concerns procedures related to the <br />proposed use tax to be considered by registered electors of the City at the <br />November 1, 2005 Election. The resolution states the City Council's intent if the <br />TABOR ballot issue 2A is approved, the City will not undertake non-business <br />related audits of individuals who are residents of the City. However, the City may <br />undertake an audit of any individual in suspected cases of willful attempts to <br />evade taxation. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment. There were no comments. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Council member Brown commented the intent of the resolution is the City will not <br />audit individual who are residents. He supported the use tax question and stated <br />it is critical for the City of Louisville. <br /> <br />Finance Director Patty Leslie reported the Finance Department has designed a <br />public information brochure, which explains the use tax. It will be sent out to <br />residents in the utility bills and will be available at the City Hall. <br />
