<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 20,2005 <br />Page 3 of 15 <br /> <br />Council member Brown addressed Mr. Deborski's comments and requested <br />discussion at a Study Session. He stated the Winter Skate project request is <br />reasonable and voiced his support for a Council donation. He explained there <br />was not a significant amount of sales tax generated at last year's event, but <br />noted the Street Faire had a similar experience in its first year. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stated the Finance Committee discussed the Winter Skate program, <br />and suggested a contribution of $10,000. Mayor Sisk responded to Mr. <br />Deborski's comments and stated at the last Revitalization Commission meeting, <br />Commissioner Lathrop and Sisk gave direction for an alternative roadway. He <br />noted a meeting is scheduled between the Staff and Mr. Deborski. He voiced his <br />concern over the many misconceptions about the plan and condemnation. He <br />stated there will be no condemnations. <br /> <br />Council member Van Pelt agreed there is a public misconception that properties <br />will be condemned. She reinforced Mayor Sisk's statement. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />RECOGNITION OF YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS 2004 - 2005 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Recreation and Senior Services Director Keith Williams reported the Youth <br />Advisory Board recently completed their third year in a positive fashion. <br />He recognized Council members Keany and Marsella as Council liaisons, <br />Recreation Supervisor Mandy Perera, Librarian Carol Purfurst and Dr. Joel Fry. <br /> <br />Recreation Supervisor Perera announced the youth members not returning this <br />fall to be recognized by the Mayor and City Council for their service to the <br />community: Rachel Miller; Lauren Albrecht; Carter Gee-Taylor; Nathan <br />Lawrence; James Mackin and Andy Sydow. Also recognized were Council <br />members Jay Keany and Sheri Marsella who served as City Council liaisons. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk commended Council members Jay Keany, Sheri Marsella, and <br />Recreation Supervisor Mandy Perera. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 37, SERIES 2005 - A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING <br />SUPPORT FOR THE PASSAGE OF REFERENDA C & D THE COLORADO <br />ECONOMIC RECOVERY ACT <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stated the Council supports Referenda C & D. Resolution No. 37, <br />Series 2005 expresses the City of Louisville's full support on the November 1, <br />2005 election. <br />
