Louisville 42 Gateway Project <br />Louisville Revitalization Commission (LRC) SWOT Analysis Workshop <br />Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats analysis (SWOT) is a workshop tool <br />commonly used to identify factors that are supportive or unfavorable to achieving a specific <br />objective. The process is being utilized by The 42 Gateway project team-members to: (1) define <br />parameters for problem-solving strategies that fit within an organization’s concerns and (2) <br />identify areas of convergent and divergent opinions between the participating organizations. <br />The SWOT process used for the project engages each core team member organizations, <br />including the City of Louisville (City), Louisville Revitalization Commission (LRC), Boulder <br />County, City of Lafayette, local property owners, Colorado Department of Transportation <br />(CDOT) and Regional Transportation District (RTD). This summary records the outcome of the <br />LRC’s SWOT workshop held on December 12, 2011. Of these results, the LRC identified the <br />following as the most important: <br />Strengths <br /> Highway serves as a gateway to advertise downtown Louisville and attract more visitors, <br />which is an economic opportunity <br /> The project process and opportunities for discussion <br /> Willingness of, and ability to partner with, landowners on the west side of the railroad <br />tracks and along Highway 42 <br />Weaknesses <br /> Lack of internal consensus on the City’s priorities for this project; need to define clear <br />project goals and objectives <br /> Challenge to get pedestrians across the Highway and change the user orientation from <br />north/south to east/west along the corridor <br /> Lack of budget and funding <br />1 <br /> <br />
