<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 18, 2005 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br /> <br />Council member Brown reported the Business Retention and Development <br />Committee members reviewed proposals and interviewed three finalists for the <br />project on October 10 and 12. The three companies interviewed were <br />Ehrenwerks, ZVC and ccintellect. He noted the committee's strategy centered on <br />enhancing and retaining current businesses in Louisville. He presented a <br />proposal for Branding and Web Development Services submitted by ccintellect <br />and a proposal letter submitted by ZVC. He supported the proposals presented <br />by ccintellect and ZVC. He also presented a draft, which he prepared that <br />outlines retention of existing business and new business development. <br /> <br />Mr. Ben Wright, representing ccintellect, stated he was available to answer <br />Council questions. He stated it is an exciting proposition to assist the City to <br />embark on a business/economic development strategy effort. He explained his <br />company focuses on this type of work thoughout Metropolitan Denver. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comments. There were no comments. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Council member Keany stressed the importance of moving forward as soon as <br />possible. He noted business development has been slow over the past years. <br />He stated the web site is one step, which will bring an additional benefit to the <br />business community. He felt the City must do more to promote the local <br />businesses and bring new business to Louisville. <br /> <br />Council member Levihn commented on the interview process. He stated the <br />committee interviewed three companies and ccintellect rose to the top with their <br />expertise in working with cities to develop web sites. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stressed the importance of keeping the information on the web site <br />current. He thanked the members of the committee and Deputy City Manager <br />Julie Boyd for their work on the project. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment. There were no comments. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Brown moved that Council approve the proposals for <br />services from ccintellect and ZVC for Economic Development Web Site, for fiscal <br />year of 2005, not to exceed $19,670, with authorization for the Mayor to <br />negotiate the contract. Council member Levihn seconded the motion. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light offered a friendly amendment that documentation for the <br />contract is put in a City stated contract, which Council has previously authorized. <br /> <br />Council members Brown and Levihn accepted the amendment. <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of 7-0. <br />
