Louisville Cultural Council
Meeting Minutes
DATE

Don Brown said there will be a new auditorium at LMS. The talks with the school
district are limited.

Don recommended that we send a representative to Business Retention and
Development (BRAD). We decided to do a presentation similar to the one we did
for City Council a few months ago.

Don told us that we have an incredible board. He suggested that Louisville really
needs a representative on the SCFD. The work that this committee does is truly
valued by council and the city.

Treasurers Report

No report. Don Atwood stated that we need to have a functional treasurer's
report.

City Staff Update

Information for the community newsletter is due July 25. Please send your
information straight to Meredyth Muth, Community Facilitator, City of Louisville-
muthm@ci.louisville.co.us.

Events schedule

We quickly reviewed the attached schedule of events.

Public Relations

Julie reported that the list is now at 525 people.

Julie is using a new Internet contact management service called "iContact" to do
to our eNewsletter distribution. In addition to newsletters, we can also create
surveys to our emaillist, and Julie has sent our first newsletter and survey using
the tool. An LCC blog is also a new feature, as well as providing an "RSS" feed
of our newsletter. Julie noted that the new service has solved a technical problem
created using her private Com cast account to send our newsletter, whereby
recipients see the newsletter as an attachment and have to click on it. The board
approved up to $15 per month for the contact management service if we can't
work with the city to handle our email blasts, the previous consideration being
that they can't grant access to Julie within the city firewall. Kathy M will check one
more time with the city, otherwise Julie will continue to use the iContact service
as approved. Important to note that there is no contractual obligation to the
service, it will be conducted month-to-month, and the list can be exported at any
time.
