Terri said the money is still coming from the city of Louisville. We didn't want to use all of it on this
property. There is a certain amount of money, some of which has been used for windows on this property
and on snow melt issue at Lydia Morgan.
Sally said this is the wrong time to look at putting in a new playground. We should look in April. Karen
can come to the January meeting. HUD is coming on January 17`h to do a REAC inspection. We are
getting a new inspector this time and they sometimes have new issues.
Frank said he wouldn't use this money at Regal or Hillside. He would use it at Sunnyside, Lydia Morgan.
Section 8: HCV Program Report
g) Monthly statistics
Frank said we are looking at reductions in administrative reimbursements but not in the HAP program.
We have 69 vouchers. HUD has made a decision to not pay housing authorities to administer the
program. We anticipated that and have budgeted accordingly.
The big challenge we have going forward is that almost every source of funding is going to be reduced.
It's across the board and is taking some bigger hits than other programs. That's going to impact the
community as a whole with less subsidized units for several years. Our Housing Crisis Prevention
Programs was awarded 50 unification vouchers. For tenant based rental assistance we have done some
short term housing rental assistance programs. In the latest homeless study, Boulder County had the
largest increase in homeless population in the state. The biggest increase is in our homeless kids. Our
case management program just served its 1000th family in the last 3 years. There is a huge increase in
suburban poverty and suburban homelessness in general. There is a real national trend of poverty
suburbanizing. The foreclosure crisis has caused a lot of homeless increases.
Matters from Members of the Board
Terri brought cards for Scott and Sherri to thank them for their time on the board.
We will present them with a plaque in the January meeting.
Kelly talked about the board retreat and when that might happen.
Frank said it should not be at the same time as the board meeting and should be at least 2 — 4 hours.
Discussion of Agenda Items for next LHA board meeting: January 31, 2012 at Regal Square.
Final decision regarding playground equipment for Sunnyside.
Celebrate Sherry and Scott's membership.
Decide the date for the February Board Retreat in place of the February Board meeting
Resolution adopting the 2012 calendar.
Meeting adjourned at 9:46 a.m.
* *Any member of the Public may speak on any subject not related to the agenda.
