Building Code Board of Appeals <br />Minutes <br />December 15, 2011 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Regular Business <br />Final approval of Bylaws <br />–Peter Geise moved and Robert Van <br />Pelt seconded a motion to approve the bylaws. Motion passed by <br />unanimous voice approval. <br />Discussion <br />Building Safety Activity <br />–Inspections are still going strong thanks <br />in part to Steel Ranch development. <br />Review Goals and projects for 2012 <br />Building Code Amendments <br /> – Fire sprinkler code needs to <br />o <br />be reviewed and amended/added. <br />Other Building Safety <br /> – The building handouts for <br />o <br />customers are being updated. Peter Geise requested staff <br />look at the Inspection Cards to make them easier for the <br />citizen to understand. He suggested marking what <br />inspections would be needed for the specific project that it <br />was tied to. <br />Louisville Municipal Code Amendments <br /> – Verbiage <br />o <br />between Building Safety Division and Public Works for what <br />a condo is for water billing at time of new construction permit <br />needs to be looked at. Mobile Home ordinance needs to be <br />reviewed. Staff has requested support from the City <br />Attorney. <br />2012 IBC Adoption <br /> – Mike Jones will consult with <br />o <br />Administration regarding the adoption of the codes. He will <br />also verify if the fire sprinkler changes were included in the <br />previous adoption or if there needs to be an Amendment. <br />2012 Green Code Adoption <br />– This will be independent <br />o <br />discussion from the 2012 IBC Code Adoptionand will be <br />reviewed in the Spring when the books are available. <br />Congratulations to Re-AppointedMembers <br /> – There were nine <br />applicants that applied for the two vacancies. Mike Jones has been <br />vocal with Administrative staff, that this is a technical board and the <br />members appointed need to understand the technical aspects for <br />Building Codes. <br />Update <br />Building Safety Division Personnel <br /> – – The open <br />Administrative/Permit Technician position has been filled by Monica <br />Garland. <br />Steel Ranch <br /> – Phase 2 and 3 have opened early and sales of new <br />homes were placed on hold once they reached 100. The <br />Developer is adding more multi-family homes in the south end of <br /> <br />
