PAGE THREE <br />SUBJECT: UPDATE /DISCUSSION - PLANNING COMMISSION 2011 - 2012 WORK <br />PLAN <br />DATE: OCTOBER 25, 2011 <br />• Staff has draft revisions for the demolition process before City Council based on the study <br />session discussion; <br />• Staff has draft commercial building preservation incentives before the HPC and City Council; <br />• Staff and HPC are developing fiscal management guidelines for the Historic Preservation <br />Fund (HPF) <br />2011/12 Work Plan: Historic preservation issues will continue to demand significant time for the <br />Planning Division staff. HPC and City Council have outlined work goals for 2011 and 2012. <br />Livable Streets Plan and Policy: ON-GOING <br />• Draft policy will come before City Council in the 4th quarter of 2011. <br />• Staff has focused efforts on active design and construction projects including: <br />- McCaslin / Washington Crossing; <br />- McCaslin / Dillon intersection; <br />- Dahlia repaving (adding bike lanes); <br />- CTC trail connection; <br />- US 36 Design Build Project; <br />- Downtown Parking and pedestrian action plan. <br />2011/12 Work Plan: Work focus will shift to on -going transportation planning for the city. <br />Periodic Updates to the LMC: ON -GOING <br />• Staff is preparing modifications to the LMC in 2011for: <br />- Old Town Roof Pitch exemption for existing roof with less than a 6:12 pitch; <br />- Vision clearance area requirements; and, <br />- Modifications to the 17.14 Mixed Uses Guidelines. <br />2011/12 Work Plan: Requests will continue to emerge from Board of Adjustment, staff, and <br />citizen inquiry <br />Lafayette <br />EMERGING ISSUES FOR 2012 <br />2012 Comprehensive Plan Update <br />• City is required to finalize and update to the comp. plan by December 2012 <br />Transportation Planning <br />• US 36 and McCaslin Interchange traffic analysis and conceptual design; <br />• Hwy. 42 Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan; <br />• Neighborhood livable transportation action plans; US 36 design build coordination <br />11 <br />
