Louisville City Council Meeting <br />August 15, 2000 <br />Page 20. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Davidson reported on public comments that building permit requirements are too <br />excessive. Davidson suggested that Staff review the current building requirements <br />mandating permits and make recommendation to Council. <br /> <br />Howard stated that the paper work for a business license is highly repetitive and <br />suggested that the paperwork be available on-line. <br /> <br />Keany asked Staff if the Police Department is writing tickets for parking violations in the <br />Downtown area. Simmons stated that the Police Department has supplied statistics on <br />warnings and tickets issued since April. Simmons noted that 104 tickets had been issued <br />through July. <br /> <br />Keany reported on public comments that City Employees are taking parking spaces that <br />could be utilized by the public. He asked that the Police monitor this problem. <br /> <br />Davidson requested that the Chief of Police be present at a work session to update the <br />Council on the parking issue. <br /> <br />Mayer commented that the parking is also tight in the evenings. He reported on a letter <br />from Carol Shields about an area of natural education, which prairie dogs are in the <br />process of destroying. He stressed the need for some decision on the prairie dog issue. <br />He noted that the Recycling Authority will also meet on the evening of August 23, 2000 <br />and unless there is a quorum, he would not be able to attend the city-wide meeting at the <br />Recreation Center. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br />in favor. <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Mayer moved that Council adjourn, (10:20 p.m.) seconded by Brown.
