Open Space Advisory Board
Agenda
Dec. 14, 2011
c OSAB has a Jan. 11, 2012 meeting, and at that meeting, OSAB
intends to ask questions and, perhaps, make recommendations to
City council regarding the Plan.
• There has been a bear reported on the north side of Louisville at North
Open Space. DOW has been notified and has been attempting to capture
and relocate it.
• The Board wishes to thank Ember for her support and the extensive
preparation for each meeting.
VIII. Discussion: Tax Initiative Education
OSAB would like to make a recommendation regarding the details of the ballot
language.
• OSAB questions:
c Should OSAB support a sunset date on the tax or whether OSAB
should recommend that the tax be allowed to exist in perpetuity?
What were the uses of the tax? OSAB is interested in learning
about the particular historical uses.
o Does OSAB think that the Conservation Trust Land Acquisition
Fund be for uses that are not strictly open space uses?
o Should OSAB recommend that the amount of the tax be changed?
o What is the timeline?
o Can the City Manager attend a board meeting to discuss the tax
process?
IX. Discussion: Open Space Open House
• May 2012 is the potential date.
• Staff has compiled a draft volunteer brochure for the event. Other ideas
included: geocaching, Aquarius parking lot redesign "launch", open space
popularity, social media, tax education.
X. Discussion Items for Next Meetings on January llth
• Elections
• Master Plan
• Referendum Initiative Education and Discussion
XI. Adjourn at 8:58 pm.
