She stated that there is support for the <br />development of a park and referenced the Futures Conference where the citizens <br />requested open space, parks and trail systems. She urged Council to make an offer on the <br />property prior to approving the development of the properly. <br /> <br />Ted Hine, 318 South Place, Louisville, CO, stated that signatures recently obtained for <br />the open space purchase request, illustrates the desires of the citizens also voiced at the <br />Future's Conference. He stated that the signatures on the petitions show overwhelming <br />support for a park. He asked Council to find a way to acquire the parcel and make it open <br />space. <br /> <br />Dr. Mary Phillips, 988 Cleveland Court, Louisville, CO stated that she would like to see <br />the land either remain as is, or developed as a park. She voiced her concern that the <br />property lines have already been established, however when recently surveyed, the <br />surveyor's implied that the existing property lines were in error. She asked that the <br />property line issue be resolved prior to any development of the properly. She also noted <br />that some had suggested that there should be an access to Via Appia. She voiced concern <br />that the development would encroach on property owned by the City. She asked that if <br />the development does occur, the existing trees around the parameter be allowed to stay. <br /> <br />Richard Kithil, 891 N. Hoover, Louisville, CO, stated that his house borders the west side <br />of the Fischer land. He paraphrased a letter he intends to direct to the editor of the <br />Louisville Times Newspaper. In his letter he asks if Louisville needs another cluster of <br />$800,000 homes and addressed the architect's suggestion of a gated community. He <br />noted that property taxes have doubled in the last five years and will further increase if <br />this property is developed. He stated that the project is about money for the developers. <br />He addressed the development's impact on traffic and the junk on the Fischer Property, <br />referencing old steel beams, hot water heaters and broken down farm equipment. He <br />referenced soil contamination from stored, diesel fueled, construction machinery as an <br />environmental issue. He noted that the Futures Conference expressed citizen's wish for <br />less growth and development, and more parks and open space in the community. He <br />urged the Council to investigate alternatives to the proposed development. <br /> <br />Joe Levine, 338 South Place. Louisville, CO, stated that his back yard borders the Fischer <br />property and that he favored fewer homes. He addressed the problem of people cutting <br />across the area, and asked that there be some stipulation assuring that there will be a <br />public right-of-way, either a sidewalk or a path. <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br /> <br />
